The Art of Women in Wartime
Sunday September 18 – doors at 1pm, chat begins by 1:15pm
Performance of Waiting for the Parade at 2pm

Join Alberta Theatre Projects to explore the art and science of women in wartime and enjoy a matinee performance of Waiting for the Parade by John Murrell. Five very different women wait out the war in this charming, funny, and touching drama that is one of our country’s best-loved plays. In a pre-show Beakerhead event, celebrate the vital role of women in wartime, and their contribution to innovation.

A preshow conversation to celebrate the vital role that women played and their contribution to innovation during World War II. Themed to the ATP production of Waiting for the Parade by John Murrell, which tells the story of five women in wartime Calgary, this chat is part of Beakerhead.

Special guests are two war veterans Betty Laycock (a plotter for the Royal Canadian Naval Service) and Marion Booth (codebreaker with the Women’s Royal Canadian Naval Service) and the director of the play Kate Newby. Moderated by Laurel Green, ATP’s Artistic Associate. There will be light catering provided by the Royal Canadian Legion No.1 Branch.

Tickets $25 -$72
