Where better to dwell on the affairs of the heart than a cozy French bistro in the dead of winter? And when we say affairs, we mean the art and science of this miraculous organ.
Under the guidance of textile artist Adele Schatschneider, you’ll make your own felted anatomical heart model. And, you’ll be in the company of Dr. Sarah Hewitt, a physiology prof who’ll help you understand how it works and why sometimes it doesn’t.
You’ll be happily learning a wool sculpture craft while hearing famous heart-stopping stories and the science behind them. At the end of it all, you’ll have the most precious gift to give, a handmade small felted heart.
And then there’s the art from the kitchen and bar, where light snacks and French onion soup will keep you warm and energized through a cold midwinter afternoon. The exquisite snacks will be created for you by Avec Bistro’s France-trained executive chef Daniel Pizzaro.
This is a Saturday afternoon you’ll never forget. And just in time for a most unusual Valentine’s Day experience. A parting shot of absinthe is an optional add-on. After all, absinthe makes the heart grow fonder.
Tickets: $89.00 - Includes appetizer and soup, champagne taster, 2 oz. cocktail, all felting supplies and new knowledge (priceless). It also includes the gratuity.
Space is limited to 20.
