Women make up less than 25% of people employed in STEM careers. According to Statistics Canada, 34% of Canadians with a STEM degree are women yet they make up only 23% of Canadians working in science and technology. Girls need to know and be told they can be anything including scientists and engineers and women need to work in safe and inclusive workplaces that allow them to make the biggest discoveries, get the research funding, lead the best teams.
