From the artist: “Initiated in 2017, my Moon Gate project draws inspiration from the circular doors of Suzhou gardens. The use of white negative space on the paper symbolizes a division between reality and another realm of time and space. Through the circles, I intend for viewers to experience the same sensations I felt—the little, delightful excitements of peering through the circular doors.”
